Be Seen and Heard!

I share this photo not to be “seen” as my friend Erin Latterell Burk says, but for you to know that you can always and should always be seen and heard! When I share this photo it always evokes a lot of response, which I have been thinking about quite a bit lately. To me it symbolizes my journey. I have been on a relentless pursuit for over 40 years to create while helping others identify their dreams and goals and to help them attain them.
It has been a long journey. When I set out to start my first skin care brand in 1992 there was no internet, no websites, no CRM and eblasts, etc. That same year, just before I launched my first skin care brand Glycolique, I rededicated my life to Jesus. Most women at that time, who had businesses, had wealthy husbands or backers. Banks would not loan me money even though I had years of experience in national sales and marketing in the wholesale beauty industry with a network of distributors, who had taken on the line. It shot off like a rocket but I forged on. I had my vision, mission and goals. I had a burning desire to create and to help others to attain their goals as well.
In order to have the seed capital to launch Glycolique, I sold my home. I set out and from then on I never stopped!

I have dealt with so many challenges. Many that would have stopped people from continuing. At those cross roads I would ask myself, “what would I do if I wasn’t doing this?” The answer was always evolve again and keep going. I was doing exactly what God had for me to do in my life. I have been so blessed to have had my purpose revealed to me years ago. At one of these cross roads, God sent me a typed note. I’ll share the back story at another time.
The note said. “The call to new beginnings is ringing in the air, it’s reaching through the mist of circumstances everywhere. Stand tall, Take the first step, the second and third step will be revealed to you.” Psalm 37
There weren’t mentors, coaches or masterminds, but I did have my faith, the word of God, my books from Napoleon Hill, Steven Covey to name a few and my treasured CD’s from Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins and so many others. They all helped keep me going.
In June 2020, after I sold the brick and mortar Spa, that I had built over the last 17 years, I went to Korey Howell Photography for new head shots. The makeup artist, Livia Pope, whipped this feather collar out and said “I bought this just for you. It’s perfect!”
I said to myself, “It’s too showy.” I then said to myself, as my friend and coach Sharon Lechter says, “Why Not?”
I want you to say to yourself “Why Not?” Whatever, has been in your spirit for awhile look at it and start saying to yourself “Why Not?” Think about this powerful thought quote from Danelle Delgado, “Who will loose if you don’t win?” Take that first step and don’t stop!
Years ago I heard in my spirit to share my story. I finally sat down and and took the first step. I shared my story in my book, “Hope and Possibilities Just Over the Horizon. It is Never Too Early Or Too Late To Create the Life of your Dreams.”
During this Women’s History Month let’s make some history together!

Over the last 25 years, I have been one of the pioneers in result-oriented medical grade skin care. I have built two skin care lines, Glycolique and Novita Spa Clinical products which are sold to salons, spas, medical spas and are also available on novitaspa.com. I was the first to launch result-oriented skin care to Salons in 1992. I trained and educated Salons to evolve into Luxury Day and Medical Spas.
My vision contributed to the Day Spa & Medical Spa industries that we know today.
In April 2020, my award-winning skin care line, Novita Spa Clinicals and the Hybrid Concept in Beauty, was a finalist in the Product Innovation Category, for the Austin Women’s Way Awards.
